Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on 28th April 1968 is an American Actress and Singer. Her career began when she was a teenager and is best known for her roles as Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and auto salesman. She has 3 siblings. When she was a teenager, she sang in nightclubs, sneaking out of the house to sing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School from 13 years old she studied drama in New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the renowned Uta Hagen. She is an Brookfield local birthed in Brookfield Connecticut on the 28th day of April, 1967. Her father is both an German American policeman and an auto salesman. Kari is the youngest of three children. As a teenager was a nightclub singer, she would sing and then slipped away to do a show. Kari at the time was 13 years old studied at the Wooster School and Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She took drama classes at Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, Marymount Manhattan College college, and also the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which she was taught by a professor renowned for her work as Uta. Kari began performing as a teenager, and her first TV break coming on the 1987's MTV Remote Control.
