Guarnaschelli, Maria Guarnaschelli's child, works as an editor of cookbooks. She graduated in 1991 from Barnard College with an art historical degree. She worked in an American Place restaurant for one calendar year on the lowest wage in 1991 until 1991. Guarnaschelli began her journey into the world of food by helping her mother to make a number of dishes and creating the books. Guarnaschelli began her career as a sous chef under Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli then went on to work in various restaurants throughout France and Los Angeles. Guy Savoy manages La Butte Chaillot. Prior to joining Butter, she worked as an executive chef in the Patina restaurant of Daniel Boulud and at Joachim Splichal's Patina. She served as executive chef of the Darby restaurant, which closed in the summer of 2003. She chairs of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli released her first cookbook in 2013. "Old School Comfort food and the way I learned cook" contains autobiographical elements along with her top recipes from her work that she has adapted to her home.
