Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress that appeared in several TV and film productions. Her most famous role was being the actress who played the character of Miss Kitty Russell in the TV show 'Gunsmoke'. In addition her other roles, she also had a reputation for appearing in television projects 'The Red Skelton Show', 'Tattletales' and 'The Edge of Night'. In addition, she was a part of dozens of movies, including 'Stars in My Crown' 'Duchess of Idaho', 'Cattle Town', 'Miss Robin Crusoe'in "About Mrs. Leslie', 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' as well as 'The Boost'. Blake had been working as a telephone operator and a fan of animals. Together together with Frank Gilbert, she was the first person to breed successfully cheetahs the wild. She was co-founding alongside her husband Frank Gilbert of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Even as a board member of Humane Society of the United States Blake is a part of a long history. Blake was inducted to the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Also, she was awarded the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
