Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez 7 September, 1964, is an American dancer and actress. Her first big break came with Tina's performance in Do the Right Thing (1989), followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance on Fearless (1993) was rewarded with a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as well as other accolades. Perez has appeared in a variety of films since her time in the film which include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994), and another nomination for her character in The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has also appeared in Broadway playslike The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted the 18th season of ABC's talk show The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. By 1999 her mother was living in poverty in the Woodside Houses, when she died from complications of AIDS.
